“Great communication and service was excellent”
Independence is one of the oldest parts of Jackson County, and the housing shows it — turn-of-the-century homes near the historic square with steep porches and narrow staircases, then whole blocks of 1950s and ’60s ranches spreading north and east. We’ve carried sofas down those tight Square-area stairwells and we’ve loaded full four-bedroom houses out in the 64055 subdivisions. Each one gets the same plan: pad it, dolly it, walk it out clean.
We’re based across the metro in the West Bottoms, so Independence is a quick run for us up I-70 or 24 Highway. No long-haul fuel surcharge tacked on, no scrambling for a truck. Our five trucks and roughly twelve full-time movers are all in-house, and David hires and trains every one of them himself.
Local rates in Independence are the same flat Kansas City pricing we quote everyone: $129/hr for a two-mover crew and truck, or $169/hr for three movers when the job’s bigger. Pads, dollies, and hand tools are included, and you get a written price locked in before we lift a box. A $99 deposit holds your date and comes off the total.
What we move most often in Independence
Two homes are rarely alike out here, so we price by what’s actually in front of us — square Victorians, postwar ranches, or the newer builds near Little Blue Trace.
| Home type | Typical flat band | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1-bedroom near the Square | $540–$880 | Stair-carry and porch handling included |

If you’d rather not pack, our full-pack service starts at $360 in materials and labor, and short-term storage runs from $50 a month per climate-controlled vault if your closing dates don’t line up. Up to $1,000,000 cargo coverage per shipment, with a written estimate every time.
